Project objectives
Project cooperation between universities, primary schools and publishing houses will not only contribute to the high quality of outputs, but will also ensure an open educational resource on the topic of mental health for target groups. Our efforts will focus on the development of a comprehensive toolkit that will include the four project deliverables. The goal is to design, develop, test and validate a product that would be directly addressed to students and teachers on the topic of Well-being.
OUTPUTS OF THE PROJECT
The activities will be implemented in five work packages (WP – Work Packages):
- Work package 1 (WP1) – Budget management and control
- Work Package 2 (WP2) – Design
- Work package 3 (WP3) – Course preparation and development for teachers and for institutions involved in teacher education
- Work package 4 (WP4) – Piloting, implementation
- Work Package 4 (WP4) – Campaign to share and promote the project
MAIN TARGET GROUPS
- Second grade pupils (age 10-11), intact pupils, pupils with SEN
- Pedagogical and professional staff – second-level teachers / possibly adequate depending on the country, school psychologist, special pedagogue, coordinator of education and prevention and other professional pedagogical positions
GOALS OF THE PROJECT
We will work on the following intellectual outputs:
- Creation of a Prevention program for teachers – materials for teachers and professional teaching staff in the form of asynchronous digital training in an adequate scope
- Creation of an Intervention program for teachers – materials for teachers and professional teaching staff in the form of asynchronous digital training in an adequate scope
- Creation of Worksheets for pupils – materials for pupils in print and interactive digital form
- Creation of an Online platform – created and verified programs (in 4 languages) that can be used by non-participating schools/pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff
Other goals:
- ensure open access to programs and innovative educational resources for primary schools across Europe. The training of teachers and educational institutions will take place online and interactively
- train 40 teaching and non-teaching staff at the basic education level in the application of preventive and intervention approaches to deal with learned helplessness, thereby ensuring continuous professional development and improved competences
- include in the program about 200 primary education pupils from 4 primary schools from 3 partner countries (Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Spain)
- about 80 pupils of the 5th year of elementary school in Slovakia
- about 80 pupils of the 5th grade in the Czech Republic
- about 40 of 5th grade students in Spain
- to confirm the expected statistically significant change in the monitored personality variables and school behaviour of pupils, as a result of exposure to the PROWELL approach
- look at the solution to the issue of education and disadvantaged students; support and development of students’ strengths with an emphasis on their self-confidence and self-confidence; social support and support of the school, family, classmates, empathy, life and study motivation and engagement, meaning in life, as well as reduction of learned helplessness
- the possibility of incorporating effective psychological activities into the educational process of 5th grade elementary school students and into the work of pedagogic and professional staff of elementary schools
- extensive sharing and promotion campaign
- the final Face-to-Face international conference
